Gerard Pique's absence was "a technical decision"

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique says that leaving Gerard Pique out of his squad for Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Celta Vigo was "a technical decision".

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has revealed that "a technical decision" was the reason for Gerard Pique's absence during Saturday's La Liga clash with Celta Vigo.

The Spanish defender was not even in the squad for his side's 1-0 defeat, with strong suggestions that the centre-back will leave the Camp Nou in the January window.

"He was left off the squad for a technical decision. I'm not going to discuss dressing room things, not now or ever," Enrique told reporters after the match.

Pique has struggled to produce his best form this season, with Chelsea and Manchester United both said to be keen on a January move.
