Former Manchester United defender Rafael Da Silva backs Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold to develop into a better player than United legend Gary Neville.

Former Manchester United defender Rafael Da Silva has backed Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold to soon 'surpass the level' of Gary Neville.

During a United career which spanned almost two decades, Neville made 602 appearances in all competitions and helped the North-West giants win 20 trophies.

However, with Alexander-Arnold having proven to be a hit at both ends of the pitch at Anfield, Rafael feels that the youngster will soon become a better player than the United and England legend.

Speaking to ESPN, Rafael said: "I hope Alexander-Arnold keeps playing well, not against Manchester United for sure, but if he keeps doing that he will for sure pass Gary Neville."

Alexander-Arnold has already contributed six goals and 34 assists from 125 outings in all competitions.
