Claudio Ranieri backs Zlatan Ibrahimovic to shine in Premier League

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri expects Zlatan Ibrahimovic to succeed in the Premier League following his free transfer to Manchester United this summer.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has backed Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to be a hit in the Premier League.

The 34-year-old Swede joined the Red Devils on a free transfer this summer having seen a trophy-laden four-year spell with Paris Saint-Germain come to an end.

Ibrahimovic brings with him a winning reputation having lifted the league title in 13 of his last 15 seasons as a player, and Ranieri does not expect him to flop in England.

"Yes, I think [he will be a hit]. He's a big champion, fantastic character, a brilliant player and a good player for United," he told reporters.

Ranieri's side are expected to come up against Ibrahimovic on Sunday when Manchester United take on the Foxes in the Community Shield.
