Micah Richards is determined to push Manchester United off their pedestal as Manchester City rival their enemies for the Premier League title.

Micah Richards believes that Manchester City will be able to one day dominate English football just like their fierce rivals Manchester United.

This season's title race could go right down to the wire depending on the outcome of Monday night's Manchester derby, where City could go level on points with the Red Devils at the top of the table.

"Because United have always been better than us just makes it a bit more special," said Richards. "I've played against them since I was part of the Under-14s and they've always been better at every level.

"We're not quite there yet, but we're slowly but surely catching up. It's amazing to see how far we've come in such a short space of time. The players who have just come in didn't really know what the derby in Manchester was all about – but they're getting it now."

Both clubs have just three games left to play to try to clinch the coveted Premier League title.
