Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted that he has 'a great relationship' with Real Madrid teammate Gareth Bale.
It has been reported that there is serious friction between the two players, which has stemmed from Bale's perceived selfishness in the final third of the field.
Sections of the Bernabeu crowd whistled Bale during the 3-0 win over Espanyol at the weekend despite the Welshman scoring a free kick in the first period, but Ronaldo has claimed that there is no issue between the pair.
"On the pitch you can have an impulsive reaction at any time and Gareth is very important for Real Madrid," Ronaldo told reporters after picking up his third Ballon d'Or on Monday.
"These are things that can happen in any match, but there is no problem between us and our relationship is great."
Bale has been linked with a return to the Premier League in recent weeks, with Manchester United said to lead the race.
