Manchester United's Robin van Persie: 'I'll walk on fire for Louis van Gaal'

Robin van Persie admits that he would "walk on fire" for Netherlands and soon-to-be Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal.

Manchester United and Netherlands striker Robin van Persie has admitted that he would "walk on fire" for manager Louis van Gaal.

The 30-year-old will captain his national side, who are under the leadership of Van Gaal, in the World Cup in Brazil next month.

After the tournament, Van Gaal will join Van Persie at Old Trafford after signing a three-year deal to take over from David Moyes.

"I owe him something," Van Persie told The Blizzard. "So, I will be as sharp as a knife in Brazil. I will walk on fire for him if I have to - like the rest of the team.

"We have a lot of options. Our coach has a lot of choices over there. I think we are going to do something special."

The Dutch striker is fit for the World Cup after missing the closing stages of the domestic season due to injury.
