Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has reportedly been doing extra training sessions during the international break.
The 22-year-old has been given time off by Jose Mourinho as he is not involved in England's upcoming fixtures, but Shaw has taken advantage of the international break by training extra hours while his teammates rest.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the former Southampton defender wants to prove a point to his manager after being publicly criticised by Mourinho.
Shaw was subbed off at half time in Manchester United's FA Cup victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend.
"I wanted my defensive line to be more solid and I want more personality in my team because many times I felt that [Nemanja] Matic was an island of personality, desire, and control surrounded by a lack of personality, a lack of class, and a lack of desire," Mourinho told reporters when questioned about taking off Shaw.
The left-back will be aiming to prove his worth before United's next game against Swansea City at Old Trafford.
