Former Manchester City winger Trevor Sinclair has claimed that Manchester United are lacking an identity at the moment.
The Red Devils have found themselves struggling since Sir Alex Ferguson left Old Trafford in 2013, with David Moyes's tenure lasting just 10 months and Louis van Gaal also coming under criticism in recent weeks.
Sinclair told BBC Sport: "You get that feeling that United are going through different managers and systems and are going back to square one.
"It must be depressing for United fans to think this could go on for a while. I think it is hugely important how the team is set up - we are looking for the identity of United and we do not know what it is at the moment."
United are currently fourth in the Premier League table.
