John Terry says that striker Wayne Rooney will continue to contribute to the national side for the next decade.

England captain John Terry has claimed that striker Wayne Rooney will be a key contributor to the national side for the next ten years.

The Manchester United forward, who struggled during the 2010 World Cup, had an up-and-down 2010/11 campaign, during which he was reported to have come close to leaving Old Trafford.

However, the 25-year-old found form late in the season and has carried that into the new camapign, including two goals during England's 3-0 win over Bulgaria on Friday evening.

"Wayne is flying again," Terry told the The Observer. "He's been excellent all week and he's still very much at the forefront of this side.

"Everyone has been talking about younger players and older players but Wayne doesn't really fall into either category. He still has an awful lot to give over the next 10 years, I'm very confident of that.

"He's showed some great early form for Manchester United and just continued that when he linked up with England."

England will look to cement their place at Euro 2012 with a win over Wales on Tuesday.
