Manchester United are reportedly prepared to offer manager Jose Mourinho a new five-year deal that would see him remain in the Old Trafford hotseat until at least 2022.
The 54-year-old took over in Manchester last summer on a three-year deal with an option for a further year and has impressed during his first 12 months in the job.
Mourinho became the first ever United manager to win silverware in his debut season, with victories in the Community Shield and the EFL Cup followed up by a triumph in the Europa League last week - a result that secured the club's return to the Champions League for next season.
The Red Devils also spent a large proportion of the season unbeaten in the Premier League but could ultimately only finish sixth in the table as Mourinho switched his priorities to the Europa League.
According to the Sunday Express, the United hierarchy are keen to tie down the ex-Chelsea boss for the long term and are putting together a new five-year deal - worth £20m a year - that they hope he will agree to ahead of next season.
Mourinho is thought to have a significant transfer kitty at his disposal this summer, with the £87m signing of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann expected to be his top priority.
