Former Manchester United keeper Edwin van der Sar believes that David Moyes faces an "impossible job" trying to replace Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Scot replaces the 71-year-old at the Red Devils following Ferguson's retirement at the end of the season after clinching his 13th Premier League title with the club.
Van der Sar is quoted by the Irish Examiner, as saying: "[Ferguson] is a great man and a great manager at a fantastic club. I wish him the best of luck and David Moyes also because it is almost an impossible job to step into.
"I am sure the manager and the players and the board are fully behind him. That is all you can ask for."
Van der Sar played for United for six years between 2005 to 2011.
