Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck is reportedly on the verge of signing a new five-year contract with the club.
The 21-year-old has been a key part of Sir Alex Ferguson's side this season, scoring 13 goals in 39 games, including nine in the Premier League.
He remains behind the likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones in the wage structure, however, and will therefore be handed a £45,000-a-week contract, according to The Metro.
United are currently three points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
