Manchester United's Ashley Young hoping for positive Watford reception

Ashley Young is hoping that he gets a positive reception when he returns to his first club Watford with Manchester United at the weekend.

Manchester United winger Ashley Young has revealed that he is keen to receive a positive reception from Watford supporters during Saturday's Premier League encounter.

The 30-year-old started his career with the Hornets, for whom he made over 100 appearances prior to his switch to Aston Villa for £9.75m in 2007.

Young has been roundly jeered on the majority of his trips back to Villa Park, but he is hopeful that the Vicarage Road faithful will be more welcoming.

"I'm really looking forward to going back," the former England international told the club's official website.

"It's the club where I started and learnt my trade and, hopefully, it'll be a nice reception - a better one than I get at Aston Villa anyway. There will be quite a lot of my family going to the game, so it'll be nice to go back."

Stevenage-born Young has made nine appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions this term.
