Arsenal and Manchester United's U21 squads play out a 2-2 draw at Moss Lane on Monday night.

Arsenal and Manchester United's U21 squads met in an entertaining 2-2 draw at Moss Lane on Monday night.

Chuba Akpom shone for the Gunners and opened the scoring after neat work in the penalty area from Thomas Eisfeld.

United quickly equalised when Nick Powell headed past Lukasz Fabianski from close range.

Powell helped the home side complete a quick turnaround on 22 minutes when he combined with Adnan Januzaj to set up Jesse Lingard, who made no mistake with a cool finish.

A frantic first 45 minutes saw Akpom score again from a rebound after Ben Amos had spilled a drive from distance by Conor Henderson.

Neither side was able to find a winner after the break, although Akpom and Sean McGinty both went close in the final few minutes.
