PSV Eindhoven youngsters thrash Manchester United counterparts

PSV Eindhoven fire in five unanswered goals during their UEFA Youth League clash with Manchester United's Under-19s.

Manchester United's Under-19 side were hammered 5-0 by PSV Eindhoven in their UEFA Youth League clash this afternoon.

The young Red Devils, who are managed by former United midfielder Nicky Butt, won the corresponding fixture 3-0 in Eindhoven two months ago.

However, from the moment that they fell behind to Albert Gudmundsson's 13th-minute opener, United were second best.

Ramon-Pascal Lundqvist and Dirk Abels added further goals before the break, while Sam Lammers and substitute Joey Konings struck after the restart to secure a 5-0 victory for the away side.

The hefty defeat has left United bottom of Group B and they must now beat Wolfsburg in Germany next time out to stand any chance of progressing through to the knockout stages of the tournament.
