Manchester United pip Tottenham Hotspur to Under-21 title

Manchester United edge Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 in the Under-21 Premier League final, thanks to a late brace from Larnell Cole.

Manchester United have claimed the inaugural Barclays Under-21 Premier League title after coming from behind to edge Tottenham Hotspur in a 3-2 success last night.

A number of players with first-team experience featured for both sides, including Tom Carroll, Ben Amos, Ryan Tunnicliffe and Harry Kane.

Spurs raced into a two-goal lead at Old Trafford, courtesy of impressive strikes from Jonathan Obika and Alex Pritchard.

United rallied to reduce the deficit through Belgian youngster Marnick Vermijl, before Larnell Cole equalised with a composed finish from close range.

Cole then completed the turnaround to score a winner two minutes from time as United secured a late victory in the reserve showpiece.
