Zlatan Ibrahimovic named in Sweden's provisional Olympic squad

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is named in Sweden's provisional 35-man squad for the Olympics in Rio this summer.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been named in Sweden's provisional 35-man squad for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro this summer.

The 34-year-old, who is widely expected to join Manchester United on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, will not make a decision on his participation until after Euro 2016.

According to BBC Sport, Sweden's head coach for the Olympic team Hakan Ericson is keen for Ibrahimovic to play, but his "hopes are not huge".

Should Ibrahimovic join United this summer, he could miss the team's Premier League opener against Bournemouth on August 13 if he opts to go to Rio as the football tournament begins on August 3.
