Report: Manchester United board ready to back Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

A report claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still has the backing of his Manchester United bosses, despite the club's disappointing Champions League exit.

Manchester United chiefs reportedly still have full confidence in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and are ready to back their under-fire manager.

The Red Devils exited the Champions League at the group stage on Tuesday with a 3-2 defeat to RB Leipzig and are sixth in the Premier League.

That appeared to increase the pressure on Solskjaer, United's fourth permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson departed in 2013, but the Daily Mail claims that he will be given even more time to turn things around.

United's board apparently feel that the club are heading in the right direction, even if results have been mixed at best.

Mauricio Pochettino, out of work since leaving Tottenham Hotspur in November 2019, is said to be monitoring developments as he seeks a return to management.

Solskjaer's side are back in action on Saturday with a home league meeting against rivals Manchester City.
