Cristiano Ronaldo has been named in the starting XI for Manchester United's Premier League clash with Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed on Friday that the Portugal international would make his second debut for the club against the Magpies this weekend.

Ronaldo, who re-signed with the club this summer, will seemingly lead the line at Old Trafford, with Jadon Sancho, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood operating in the slightly deeper areas.

Nemanja Matic will partner Paul Pogba in the middle of the park, while there are no surprises in the defensive areas, as Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Aaron Wan-Bissaka play in front of goalkeeper David de Gea.

Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard are among those on the bench, but Edinson Cavani has not been included in the squad for the 20-time English champions against Newcastle.

Ronaldo, who became the highest international goalscorer of all time earlier this month, scored 118 goals and registered 69 assists in 292 appearances during his first spell at Man United.
