Team News: Darren Fletcher starts for Manchester United against Hull City

Darren Fletcher is handed a start for Manchester United as they travel to face Hull City in the Premier League.

Manchester United have handed a start to Scottish midfielder Darren Fletcher as David Moyes and his men travel to face Hull City in today's Premier League Boxing Day opener.

Michael Carrick has made the bench for United, though Robin van Persie is nowhere to be seen.

The Reds have stuck with their in-form striking partnership of Danny Welbeck and Wayne Rooney, with attacking support coming from Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young.

Tom Cleverley remains in the middle of the park, with Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans continuing as United's central defensive pairing.

Steve Bruce has decided not to make any changes to his side that drew with West Bromwich Albion last weekend, with young Irish prospect Robbie Brady missing out on a clash with his former club.

Hull City: McGregor; Bruce, Chester, Davies, Elmohamady, Figueroa, Meyler, Huddlestone, Livermore, Graham, Sagbo

Manchester United: De Gea; Rafael, Smalling, Evans, Evra, Valencia, Cleverley, Fletcher, Young, Rooney, Welbeck
