Team News: Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Eric Bailly handed Manchester United debuts against Wigan

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly are handed their Manchester United debuts, while Luke Shaw returns to the fold in a pre-season friendly against Wigan Athletic.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly will make their Manchester United debuts this afternoon as they take on Wigan Athletic in Jose Mourinho's first pre-season match as manager of the Red Devils.

Luke Shaw also starts at the DW Stadium, making his first appearance in 10 months after recovering from a broken leg.

Twenty-year-old James Wilson, who has been linked with a loan move away from Old Trafford, has been chosen by Mourinho to lead the line in attack, while Mkhitaryan will team up with Jesse Lingard and Memphis Depay.

Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone starts, while Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Daley Blind, Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera have also been given the nod.

Juan Mata, whose long-term future at the club is reportedly uncertain, has been handed a spot on the bench this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Dan Burn makes his first appearance on home turf for Wigan, while Andrew Taylor and Will Grigg are handed starting spots.
