Nemanja Vidic starts for Manchester United against Swansea City but there is no place in the team for Rio Ferdinand.

Captain Nemanja Vidic has returned to the Manchester United starting lineup for this afternoon's trip to Swansea City.

The Serbian centre-back, who has spent the past couple of months on the sidelines with a knee injury, will partner Jonny Evans in defence. As a result, Rio Ferdinand has missed out on a place in the squad altogether.

Elsewhere, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie will continue their partnership in attack.

Hosting Swansea have recalled Kemy Augustien to their midfield, which also includes Leon Britton.

Swansea: Vorm; Tiendalli, Chico, Williams, Davies; Britton, Augustein, De Guzman, Dyer, Routledge; Michu

Man United: De Gea; Jones, Evans, Vidic, Evra; Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Young; Rooney, Van Persie
