Rafael da Silva has admitted that it would be "great" for former club Manchester United if bitter rivals Liverpool are denied a first Premier League title by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Reds are two wins away from sealing a first top-flight crown in 30 years after opening up a 25-point gap on second-placed Manchester City with a game in hand to play.
However, the season has been halted indefinitely due to the COVID-19 outbreak, with speculation that the current campaign could be scrapped completely if play does not resume before July.
Ex-United full-back Rafael, who won three league titles at Old Trafford, confessed that seeing Liverpool miss out on the title by default would be a good thing for the Red Devils.
"Everybody's talking about 'stop the competition', no? They don't get to 20! It will be hard for them [if the Premier League is voided], great for us," he told MUTV.
Luke Shaw is among those to have called on the Premier League season to be scrapped if play does not resume soon.
