Bruno Fernandes is named in the Manchester United side for Thursday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur in North London.

Bruno Fernandes has been named in the Manchester United side for Thursday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur in North London.

The Portugal international emerged as a huge doubt for the contest when he picked up an ankle injury in the latter stages of Sunday's FA Cup semi-final with Brighton & Hove Albion.

However, Fernandes travelled to London with the rest of his teammates on Thursday, and the attacker has been included in the starting side for the Red Devils.

The 28-year-old will also again sport the armband for the 20-time English champions, as Harry Maguire, who was suspended against Brighton last time out, misses the match through injury.

There is just the one change from the side that started at Wembley, with Jadon Sancho coming into the XI for Anthony Martial, who drops down to the bench.

Diogo Dalot will therefore again feature at left-back for the Red Devils, with Luke Shaw playing alongside Victor Lindelof in the middle of the defence due to the absences of Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane.

Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, meanwhile, again join Fernandes in midfield, with Fred and Marcel Sabitzer both on the bench for the visitors to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

As for Tottenham, Hugo Lloris misses out with the injury that he picked up in the 6-1 defeat to Newcastle United last time out, so Fraser Forster starts between the sticks.

There is also a notable alteration in the final third of the field, with Richarlison given the nod over Dejan Kulusevski, who has dropped down to the bench for the home side.

Clement Lenglet has also been introduced into what appears to be a back three, with Pedro Porro and Ivan Perisic operating as the wing-backs for Ryan Mason's side.

As expected, Harry Kane leads the line and wears the armband for Spurs against the team that are said to be determined to sign him during this summer's transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur: Forster; Romero, Dier, Lenglet; Porro, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Perisic; Son, Kane, Richarlison

Manchester United: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Shaw, Dalot; Fernandes, Casemiro, Eriksen; Antony, Rashford, Sancho
