West Ham United are allegedly hoping to hijack Napoli's move for Paris Saint-Germain shot-stopper Keylor Navas.
The Costa Rica international has fallen behind Gianluigi Donnarumma in the Parisiens pecking order after going head-to-head with the Italian for goalkeeping duties last term.
Navas has not featured in either of PSG's Ligue 1 victories so far this term, and he is expected to complete a move away in search of regular first-team football.
Napoli have been expected to wrap up a deal for the 35-year-old, but according to La Repubblica - via The Sun - West Ham have now jumped to the head of the queue.
The Hammers are supposedly prepared to offer Navas a higher salary as they prepare for life without Lukasz Fabianski, having already snatched Alphonse Areola from PSG.

Meanwhile, the race to sign Manchester United midfielder James Garner is hotting up after he was supposedly given the green light to leave the Theatre of Dreams this summer.
The 21-year-old was a driving force in Nottingham Forest's successful promotion push last season but has been an unused substitute in both of Man United's Premier League defeats so far.
According to Football Insider, Everton have made their first approach for the £14m-rated England Under-21 international, who has attracted plenty of interest from elsewhere.
Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United have also been linked with a move for Garner, but Forest are not expected to reignite their interest having already welcomed several new midfielders to the club.
Garner has only made seven senior appearances for Man United since coming through their youth academy, while he registered four goals and 10 assists in 49 appearances for Forest last season.

Down on the South Coast, Bournemouth have already made one marquee defensive signing in the form of Marcos Senesi, but Scott Parker's side could still bolster their rearguard further.
Twenty-four-year old Abdul Mumin of Vitoria Guimaraes featured 33 times for his current club in all competitions last season, starting 26 Primeira Liga games to help Os Conquistadores finish sixth and qualify for the Europa League.
Mumin's performances last season attracted the interest of Bournemouth, according to L'Equipe, who claim that the Cherries are on the verge of hijacking his proposed move to Angers.
The Ligue 1 side were reportedly prepared to offer Vitoria a total package of €4m (£3.4m) for the 6ft 2in defender, but he can expect to earn a higher salary at the Vitality Stadium.
Mumin represented Nordsjaelland and Hoge in Denmark before moving to Portugal in 2020, and he is contracted to Vitoria Guimaraes until the summer of 2024.

Finally, Liverpool are supposedly reluctant to let Sepp van den Berg leave the club amid their injury crisis, but Championship clubs are still ready and waiting to pounce.
Despite missing Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate through injury against Crystal Palace, Liverpool did not hand any minutes to Van den Berg, as Nat Phillips and Joe Gomez stepped out onto the turf alongside Virgil van Dijk instead.
According to The Sun, early second-tier pacesetters Blackburn Rovers are at the head of the queue to sign the 20-year-old on loan, with Jon Dahl Tomasson's side ahead of Burnley and Bournemouth in the race.
However, the report adds that Liverpool are demanding Van den Berg plays a certain amount of matches for Blackburn, who could incur hefty penalty payments if the Dutchman is not used enough.
Van den Berg dropped down to the Championship with Preston North End last season and played in all but one of their second-tier games, scoring once and providing one assist.
