Marcus Rashford latest: Three potential destinations for the unsettled Man United attacker

Sports Mole looks at three possible destinations for Marcus Rashford amid claims that Manchester United are open to selling the forward.

Manchester United are reportedly open to selling Marcus Rashford as early as the January transfer window, with the Red Devils believed to be willing to listen to serious offers for the attacker.

The 27-year-old has scored three times since Ruben Amorim's arrival as head coach, with his numbers this season standing at seven goals and three assists in 23 appearances.

However, Rashford's overall performance level has again been disappointing, and it is difficult to see where he figures in Amorim's long-term plans considering the Portuguese's preferred 3-4-3 formation.

Man United are said to be willing to sell the England international 'at the least by the summer', but 'top offers' in the winter would also be considered, according to German journalist Florian Plettenberg.

With that in mind, Sports Mole looks at three possible destinations for Rashford, who has a record of 138 goals and 67 assists in 425 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.

Paris Saint-Germain

PSG are considered to be the favourites for Rashford, with the French champions long-term admirers of the forward; their interest dates back to 2022, the summer before the Englishman managed 30 goals in all competitions in 2022-23.

The Paris team are still searching for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who moved to Real Madrid over the summer, and Rashford is thought to be a genuine option for the club in 2025.

Rashford is believed to be open to the idea of making the move to the French capital, and it is unlikely that he would have to take a dramatic drop on his salary, which is in the region of £300,000 a week.

Man United are believed to have wanted as much as £100m for Rashford during the recent transfer window, but it is thought that offers of around half of that would now be considered, and PSG do have the funds to make a move for him.

Saudi Arabia

For a select number of clubs in Saudi Arabia, a transfer fee or wages would not be a problem when it comes to a move for Rashford, with the likes of Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli likely to be options.

It would be a surprise to see Rashford move to Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career, but it is not impossible to imagine, with a complete change of scenery potentially reigniting his career.

It is possible that Rashford could move to the Saudi Pro League for two or three years before returning to Europe, and he would earn a significant amount of money and potentially score a lot of goals in the process.

Cristiano Ronaldo famously made the move to Al-Nassr in 2023, and a number of famous faces have since followed suit; Rashford could be the latest of those, and Man United would surely prefer to sell him to Saudi Arabia than another European club.

Bayern Munich

Despite Rashford's struggles, he remains a huge threat, and the Englishman will be appealing to a number of major clubs in European football, including Bayern, who signed Harry Kane in the summer of 2023.

Kane has scored 64 goals in 64 appearances for Bayern, and Rashford could be given the chance to follow the England captain to Allianz Arena, with the Munich club potentially in the market for a replacement for Leroy Sane.

Bundesliga is perhaps the closest league to the Premier League in Europe when it comes to brand of football, so the style would not come as a shock to Rashford, who could also reignite his international career by moving to Vincent Kompany's side.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have also previously been credited with an interest, but if Rashford does not join PSG, then Bayern are perhaps the next in line when it comes to potential European destinations for the Red Devils academy product.
