Deadline day key events
"The team is very suited to me" - Liverpool-linked Gordon ends transfer saga
Newcastle United have announced that Anthony Gordon has signed a new long-term contract at St James' Park.
The 23-year-old joined the Magpies from Everton in January 2023 for a reported £45m and has since established himself as a key first-team player under manager Eddie Howe.
Gordon has contributed with 15 goals and 11 assists in 74 appearances for Newcastle across all competitions, including 11 goals and 10 assists in 35 Premier League matches last season.
The England international's decision to commit his future to Newcastle ends speculation of a potential return to Merseyside with Liverpool, who have been credited with an interest in the winger since the summer.
Close to £100m? Tottenham 'set Porro asking price amid Man City interest'
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly placed a £80m price tag on Manchester City target Pedro Porro.
The 25-year-old has been one of Ange Postecoglou's star performers in North London since making the switch from Sporting Lisbon on a permanent deal in the summer of 2023.
During his first full campaign in the Premier League, Porro made 35 appearances for the Champions League-chasing Lilywhites, scoring three goals and providing seven assists.
The Spaniard has not produced as much attacking output so far in the 2024-25 campaign, managing just the single goal across eight top-flight fixtures.
'Negotiations started' - Atletico ahead of Arsenal in race for young midfielder?
Atletico Madrid have reportedly submitted an offer for African teenager Baye Coulibaly, moving ahead of Arsenal in the race for his signature.
Focusing on the on-field matters, the Gunners suffered their first major bump in the road towards the Premier League title on Saturday evening, when they lost 2-0 at the home of Bournemouth.
Following a goalless first half which included a red card for centre-back William Saliba, goals from Ryan Christie and Justin Kluivert sealed maximum points for the Cherries.
Losing their maiden contest of the top-flight term, Arsenal remain in third position in the Premier League table, now trailing leaders Liverpool by four points.
Ten Hag signing out? Man United 'moving' for 21-year-old striker in January
Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko during the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old is one of the highest-rated young attackers in Europe currently, with over 20 clubs scouting the player during the opening months of the 2024-25 campaign.
Sesko has made a steady start to life in this term's edition of the Bundesliga, scoring twice and providing two assists across seven top-flight contests.
As a collective, RB Leipzig have made an exceptional start to the campaign and sit level on points with Bayern Munich at the summit of the Bundesliga table.
'Face of the project' - Man City, Barcelona suffer Kimmich transfer blow?
Bayern Munich are reportedly prepared to offer midfielder Joshua Kimmich a new contract.
It has been reported in the past that La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid were in the race for the services of the highly-rated 29-year-old.
Kimmich has made seven appearances in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich so far this season, assisting one goal, with the Bavarian side making a good start to the domestic term.
Under the reign of former Burnley head coach Vincent Kompany, the German giants have moved to the summit of the Bundesliga standings, ahead of second-placed RB Leipzig.
Chelsea boost? Youngster signs with new agency 'ahead of January exit'
Chelsea have reportedly been handed a boost in their effort to further reduce their squad numbers during the January transfer window.
Since the arrival of Enzo Maresca as head coach, a far more settled first-team group has been established than under his predecessors.
Despite the 11 players that have been added to the books, either immediately or for the future, there were 38 departures during the previous transfer window when taking into account senior, academy and exiled players.
The consequence has been Chelsea making progress on the pitch, sitting in sixth position in the Premier League standings having only lost to Manchester City and Liverpool respectively.
Premier League giants 'monitoring contract situation' of Barcelona defender Araujo
Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly continuing to monitor the contractual situation of Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.
The two Premier League giants are currently going through a period of transition, the hope being that they can eventually challenge for the Premier League title once again.
As it stands, though, they each possess unbalanced sides, with United struggling in attack and Chelsea performing inconsistently in defence.
United sit in 12th place in the Premier League standings after eight games, while Chelsea are sixth albeit after only losing to Manchester City and Liverpool.
Liverpool, Newcastle to battle for £42m Bundesliga defender?
Liverpool and Newcastle United have reportedly identified the same Bundesliga defender as a potential transfer target.
The two English giants have made contrasting starts to the new campaign, Liverpool sitting top of the Premier League standings and Newcastle being down in ninth place.
Nevertheless, they each possess two of the stronger defensive records in the division, Arne Slot's side conceding just three times while Eddie Howe's team have shipped only eight strikes.
Despite those impressive numbers over an eight-match period, there are reasons for both clubs to add to their ranks at the back as soon as possible.
Man United ready to entertain loan offers for big-money signing?
Manchester United are reportedly prepared to consider certain offers for winger Antony during the January transfer window.
The Brazil international has just started his third season at Old Trafford having made an £86m switch from Ajax in the summer of 2022.
However, despite the anticipation that the 24-year-old would become a mainstay in the team under Erik ten Hag, it has proven to be the exact opposite.
Although Antony has 86 appearances in all competitions to his name, a considerable number of outings have come from the substitutes' bench.
Arsenal 'plotting move' for Premier League attacker
Arsenal are reportedly prepared to launch a move to sign Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo in the January transfer window.
Last month, it was reported that Mbeumo was attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool.
The Cameroon international is garnering plenty of attention after making an impressive start to the 2024-25 season.
Mbeumo has racked up six goals in eight Premier League appearances, leaving him in second place in the scoring charts alongside Chelsea's Cole Palmer.
