Al-Nassr are keen to sign former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea this summer, according to a report.

Al-Nassr are reportedly interested in bringing former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea to the club on a free transfer this summer.

De Gea's contract at Old Trafford expired on Saturday, with the two parties unable to come to an agreement over a fresh deal.

The 32-year-old will remain in talks with Man United, and he could yet re-join the club in the near future, but the Red Devils are thought to be exploring other options, with Inter Milan's Andre Onana and Feyenoord's Justin Bijlow being linked with moves to Erik ten Hag's side.

According to The Sun, Al-Nassr, who signed Cristiano Ronaldo earlier this year, have emerged as genuine contenders for the Spaniard's signature this summer.

The report claims that the Saudi Arabian outfit are willing to pay De Gea £250,000 a week to make the move to the Middle East on a free transfer.

Man United are thought to be willing to pay De Gea £200,000 a week, which would be a huge drop on the £375,000-a-week salary that he had been on at Old Trafford.

The Spaniard has made 545 appearances for the Red Devils since arriving from Atletico Madrid in 2011, keeping 190 clean sheets in the process.

De Gea featured on 58 occasions in all competitions during the 2022-23 campaign, keeping 25 clean sheets, with his 17 shutouts in the Premier League seeing him win the Golden Glove.

The goalkeeper made some high-profile errors last term, though, and he also found it difficult to transition into a ball-playing stopper, with head coach Ten Hag implementing a new style.

Despite being frustrated with his situation, De Gea's first choice is still believed to be to return to Man United, although he is unlikely to be willing to accept being a number two.

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that Man United are interested in Onana, but a deal for the Cameroonian could cost in excess of £50m, which would prove problematic for the club, who will complete a £60m deal for Chelsea's Mason Mount next week.

The Red Devils are also planning to move for a new forward this summer, but a recent report claimed that there could be just £65m available to address the problematic position.

Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy, Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante are among the big names to have moved to Saudi Arabia this summer on lucrative contracts.
