Manchester United have reportedly made an offer for Paris Saint-Germain defender Nuno Mendes.
The 22-year-old's contract with PSG is due to expire in the summer of 2026, and it is understood that he is considering leaving the French capital, with a number of clubs keeping a close eye on his situation.
Man United head coach Ruben Amorim has allegedly identified the Portugal international as his number one choice to fill the left-sided wing-back role at Old Trafford, which is proving to be a hugely problematic position for the Red Devils.
According to RMC Sport, negotiations between Mendes and PSG over a new deal 'are at a standstill', with the full-back keen on a fresh challenge at this stage of his career.
The report claims that Man United have now made an official offer for the defender, but PSG remain determined to keep hold of him and will not entertain the idea of him leaving during the January transfer window.

Man United 'make Mendes offer'
Mendes has been in strong form for PSG during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring twice and registering twice in 16 appearances, including one goal and one assist in six Champions League outings.
The defender made the move to the capital giants from Sporting in July 2022, and he has represented his current side on 99 occasions, scoring five goals and registering 13 assists in the process.
Man United are believed to be far from the only club interested in Mendes, though, with the Red Devils seemingly facing a battle when it comes to signing the Portuguese.
Mendes is valued at €55m (£46m) by transfermarkt, but it is unclear how much money the 20-time English champions have placed on the table for the former Sporting youngster.

Amorim views a left-sided wing-back as a transfer priority
There are a number of areas in need of improvement at Man United, but the left-sided wing-back role is viewed as an absolute priority considering the team's issues in that area of the field.
Tyrell Malacia has recently returned after almost 18 months out with a serious knee problem, but the Dutchman has not been convincing and was left out altogether against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Thursday.
Luke Shaw is again out with another muscular problem, meanwhile, and it is thought that Amorim views the Englishman as more of an option for the left-sided centre-back role than the wing-back spot.
Diogo Dalot continues to look unconvincing in that area of the field, while Noussair Mazraoui is also better off the right.
Man United are believed to have agreed a deal to sign Diego Leon, who is a left-back, from Cerro Porteno next summer, but the 17-year-old is viewed as a player for the future rather than the present.
