AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is intent on linking up with Antonio Conte at Chelsea, according to a report.

AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko would reportedly prefer to join Chelsea over Manchester United because he is more interested in working under Antonio Conte than Jose Mourinho.

The 22-year-old is reportedly embroiled in a tug of war between the two Premier League rivals, as they battle it out to land one of the French champions' most valuable assets.

Bakayoko is a big fan of Conte, according to French publication L'Equipe, and is now close to sealing a £35m switch to Stamford Bridge on a five-year deal.

It is also suggested that Bakayoko is interested in linking up with international teammate N'Golo Kante, who himself rejected Mourinho's advances to join the Blues 12 months ago.

Former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins is unimpressed by the club's pursuit of Bakayoko, however, claiming that Nathaniel Chalobah should instead be given a chance.
