Barcelona to beat Chelsea, Manchester United to Dani Olmo?

Barcelona are now favourites to secure the services of top Chelsea and Manchester United target Dani Olmo, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly now favourites to secure the services of top Chelsea and Manchester United target Dani Olmo.

The 21-year-old Dinamo Zagreb attacking midfielder has drawn numerous plaudits for his performances this season both in Croatia and in the Champions League, leading a number of the continent's top clubs to show an interest in signing him.

Chelsea and United were believed to be in a stronger position than the likes of Atletico Madrid, Manchester City and Juventus in the race to sign him but it now appears that Olmo's former side Barcelona are in pole position.

Mundo Deportivo reports that the Spaniard, who left Barcelona's La Masia academy in 2014, is not prepared to sign an extension to his current contract with Zagreb that runs until 2021.

The report also indicates that while the Catalan giants are doubtful that they will be able to get a deal over the line in January, they still view Olmo as an 'important' option for the summer transfer window.

Olmo himself has indicated that he is keen on the move back to Barcelona, stating that their interest has made him 'happy' and that he wants 'to take a step forward' in the coming months as he looks to establish himself in the Spain squad.
