Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona in a loan deal.
The Dutchman has been the centre of transfer speculation throughout the summer, with Manchester United and Chelsea looking to sign the midfielder.
Despite being the subject of interest from the Premier League, De Jong has expressed a desire to remain at Barcelona with the Netherlands international starting for the first time this season in the 4-1 win over Real Sociedad at the weekend.
However, he could still leave the Catalan giants before the transfer window shuts, and according to reports in Spain, Bayern Munich have emerged as a potential destination.
The German champions are keen to sign De Jong on a loan deal, which would be similar to the one agreed between Bayern and Barcelona in 2019 for Philippe Coutinho.
With De Jong reportedly the highest earner at Barcelona, a move to Bayern would help Barcelona free up finances to register Jules Kounde, while they could also attempt to sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City.
Bayern Munich are still expected to face competition from United, who remain interested in bringing De Jong to Old Trafford before the transfer window closes.
