Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson reportedly turned down the chance to join Ajax before agreeing a season-long loan with Championship club Leeds United.
Neither Man United nor Leeds have confirmed a move for the full-back, but it is understood that the deal will be announced early next week.
According to ESPN, Dutch giants Ajax had agreed a deal with United for Borthwick-Jackson, but the 20-year-old wanted to remain in England, and therefore signed with Leeds for the 2017-18 campaign.
Borthwick-Jackson joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan last summer, but only made six league appearances during a disappointing spell at Molineux, and ended last season playing for Man United's Under-23 outfit.
The England Under-20 international made 14 appearances for the Red Devils during the 2015-16 campaign, but has not featured for them since Jose Mourinho took charge.
