Chelsea are reportedly weighing up whether to offer Timo Werner to Borussia Dortmund in a player-plus-cash deal for in-demand striker Erling Braut Haaland.
Norway international Haaland is one of the most sought after players in world football after scoring 47 goals in 48 games for Dortmund over the past 14 months.
Haaland is a target for the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City and Barcelona, but Chelsea supposedly believe that they are the favourites for his signature.
Football Insider suggests that the Blues hope to convince Dortmund to cash in by offering a large cash sum, plus former RB Leipzig forward Werner, to help soften the blow.
The 20-year-old has a £68m release clause in his contract that kicks in at the start of next year, but BVB are believed to be after at least £100m for his signature this summer.
Speaking at the weekend, Dortmund CEO Michael Zorc reiterated that his side are under no pressure to sell Haaland at the end of the campaign.
Werner has struggled to adapt to life in English football since arriving from Leipzig in June, scoring just five times in 28 Premier League appearances.
