With more than half of the January window yet to come, the transfer rumours continue to gather pace as Premier League clubs attempt to boost their squads for the second part of the season.
Here, Sports Mole takes a close look at each club's targets with 17 days remaining.
Arsenal
Arsene Wenger's main transfer goal this winter is to tie Theo Walcott to a long-term deal at the club. The Gunners have been linked with Schalke 04 striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Athletic Bilbao's Fernando Llorente, but thus far no movement has been made. Barcelona forward David Villa is another name on the reported list, but the Spanish outfit have refused to entertain a deal.
Arsenal's defence continues to flatter to deceive, but they have strangely not been linked with too many players in a defensive area. Liverpool's Jose Reina remains a long-term target, but it is unlikely that the Reds will be willing to sell their first-choice goalkeeper.
Aston Villa
Paul Lambert has placed his faith firmly in youngsters this season, but it is no secret that he is attempting to move for some experience. Los Angeles Galaxy striker Robbie Keane has been linked with the club, along with Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott and Tottenham Hotspur's Scott Parker, who has struggled for first-team football since returning from a lengthy injury.
It is understood that there is not too much money in the bank, however, unless Darren Bent, who is currently on the treatment table, can be sold. Newcastle United's Dan Gosling is a more realistic target. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace's Glenn Murray, who is the top scorer in the Championship, has also been linked with a move to Villa Park.
Chelsea
With Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard expected to depart the club at the end of the season, Chelsea have already opened the door to new players by signing Demba Ba from Newcastle United. Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has also been linked with a return to the Premier League, while the Blues are long-term admirers of Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
The latest name being bandied about is Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas, who has a reported £8m buyout clause in his contract. Atletico Madrid's Radamel Falcao is also a target, with the Colombian being linked with Stamford Bridge in a possible exchange for Fernando Torres.
Everton
David Moyes is not expected to do too much business in the January window, but the Scotsman has still been linked with a number of players. Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland has been mooted as the long-term replacement for Tim Howard. Meanwhile, Manchester City duo Scott Sinclair and James Milner have also been linked with the Toffees.
Highly-rated Molde defender Vegard Forren is another on the reported list of targets, along with Bordeaux's out-of-favour Frenchman Yoan Gouffran. Another striker is also desired to share the goals, with Benfica's Oscar Cardozo, who has lost his spot in the Portuguese side's starting team this season, on the list.
Fulham
It is understood that Fulham are close to signing Dnipro midfielder Derek Boateng to provide competition to a lightweight midfield. Meanwhile, Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson has been linked with a short-term move to the London outfit. Like a number of Premier League clubs, Molde's Vegard Forren is on the wishlist, along with Atletico Madrid midfielder Raul Garcia.
Martin Jol has also been linked with a move for Arsenal midfielder Andrey Arshavin, but Tottenham Hotspur's Jake Livermore is a more realistic target, with the English midfielder targeting first-team football. Another striker is also required, but it appears that the club will be priced out of a move for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent.
Liverpool
Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder is the latest name to be linked with Anfield. The Dutchman, who is expected to leave in January, is reportedly close to joining Galatasaray. However, the chance to move to the Premier League could turn his head. Tom Ince has been linked with a return to the club, but thus far Blackpool have refused to budge on their reported £8m asking price.
Arsenal's Theo Walcott and Schalke 04 striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar have also been linked with Anfield, but the signing of Daniel Sturridge and the return of Fabio Borini means that a new forward is unlikely. However, it is understood that Brendan Rodgers has also joined the hunt for Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland.
Manchester City
Manchester City have yet to acquire a new signing in the January window, but that could all change with more than half of the month left for business. Big-name strikers Radamel Falcao and Edinson Cavani, who represent Atletico Madrid and Napoli respectively, have been linked with the Etihad, but it is unlikely that that type of signing will be made until the summer.
Liverpool's Raheem Sterling and Arsenal's Theo Walcott have also been linked with the club, along with Malaga's much-coveted midfielder Isco. A more likely signing would be Derby County midfielder Will Hughes, who is being watched by a number of European outfits, including Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Manchester United
Sir Alex Ferguson is not really known for his business in January, but the Scot has not been afraid to open his chequebook if deemed necessary. Queens Park Rangers attacker Adel Taarabt and PSV Eindhoven's Kevin Strootman have been mooted as players to provide competition in midfield, while a late move for Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder is not entirely dead in the water.
Borussia Dortmund's Robert Lewandowski is just one of a number of big-name players linked with Old Trafford, with Chelsea duo Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole also reportedly heading for talks at the Premier League club. A more realistic signing appears to be Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha, although no official interest has been confirmed by either club.
Newcastle United
The signing of Loic Remy from Marseille has eased the loss of Demba Ba to Chelsea, but it is no secret that Alan Pardew is still intent on boosting his squad. Blackpool winger Tom Ince has been linked with St James' Park along with West Ham United defender James Tomkins, but both clubs are still holding firm on their asking price.
Celtic striker Gary Hooper has also been linked with a return to England, along with CSKA Moscow's speedy striker Seydou Doumbia. Much of Newcastle's transfer activity is expected to transpire if they lose Fabricio Coloccini and Danny Simpson, with both defenders linked with moves away from the club.
Norwich City
The Canaries are not expected to do too much business in January, but they have been linked with a host of strikers in order to take the burden from Grant Holt. Swansea City's Danny Graham has been mooted along with Stoke City's Cameron Jerome, but with neither club willing to sell, Brighton & Hove Albion striker Craig Mackail-Smith is a more realistic target.
Brighton's combative midfielder Liam Bridcutt has also been linked with Chris Hughton's side, with the club expected to look to the lower leagues to boost their fragile squad. Celtic striker Gary Hooper is another name that is continually linked with the club, but it is understood that Newcastle are the favourites should the former Southend United striker leave Celtic Park.
Queens Park Rangers
The chances are, if you are out-of-favour at a top club, then you will have been linked with Queens Park Rangers. It is no secret that Harry Redknapp has money to spend, but the Englishman is keen to sign wisely as he attempts to secure the great escape. Former Chelsea duo Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou have been linked with Loftus Road, along with Los Angeles Galaxy's Robbie Keane and Aston Villa's Darren Bent.
Manchester City duo Scott Sinclair and Joleon Lescott have also been linked with moves to London, along with Rennes midfielder Yann M'vila, with reports suggesting that the Frenchman is close to completing a move. Tottenham Hotspur duo Michael Dawson and Scott Parker remain long-term targets, but it is unlikely that either will be allowed to leave White Hart Lane.
Reading
The Royals certainly have money to spend in January, but thus far it has been rumours, rather than solid signings. Arsenal's Andrey Arshavin is the name that keeps cropping up, but thus far neither club has been able to agree a figure for the Russian. Swansea City's Danny Graham is another name on the wanted list, along with Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck.
Charlton Athletic's Bradley Pritchard is a more realistic target, but former Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko, now with Lokomotic Moscow, is another interesting name on the list. Maccabi Tel Aviv's utility player Steve Gohouri has also been linked with the club, but it is understood that Brian McDermott wants players with Premier League experience.
Southampton
Southampton are another club that have money to spend should they so wish, but thus far they have been linked with a host of goalkeepers in order to secure a reliable stopper. Birmingham City's Jack Butland and former Sunderland stopper Craig Gordon have been linked with the Saints, but no movement has been made.
Stoke City striker Kenwyne Jones and West Ham United's Carlton Cole are two more names that have been linked with the club, but Millwall attacker Liam Trotter is a more realistic target. The club boast one of the hottest properties in English football, Luke Shaw, in their ranks and have made his stay their main priority in the winter window.
Stoke City
The Potters have not been linked with too many players in the January window, but Tony Pulis has never been afraid to spend should the opportunity arise. One player on the reported wishlist is Lazio striker Mauro Zarate, who has impressed in Italy this season. Southampton's Rickie Lambert is another name that has been mooted, but it is unlikely that the Saints will let him leave.
More recently the club have been linked with a surprise move for Blackpool defender Alex Baptiste and it is understood that the experienced centre-back could arrive along with Crewe Alexandra's Luke Murphy. Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is hot property and Pulis could move for another stopper should he lose the Bosnian.
Sunderland
Sunderland have thus far been frustrated in their attempts to turn Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose's loan move into a permanent deal and they have therefore been forced to look elsewhere. Everton defender Sylvain Distin, whose contract is up at the end of the season, is one name on the reported list, but the Frenchman is expected to sign a new deal at Goodison Park.
Manchester City's young striker John Guidetti is another player that has been linked with the Stadium of Light, but the Black Cats have thus far been unable to sign New York Red Bull's midfielder Tim Cahill, formerly of Everton, on a loan deal.
Swansea City
It is understood that Stoke City striker Kenwyne Jones has emerged as Swansea's number one target this winter. Danny Graham could depart in search of regular football, leaving the Welsh outfit short of numbers in the final third. Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas has also been linked with a move, but Chelsea's interest has reportedly turned the Spaniard's head.
Other names on the wishlist include Bolton Wanderers duo Mark Davies and Marcos Alonso, while Blackpool winger Tom Ince has also been linked with the Premier League club. One player that seems destined to join the club is Real Betis midfielder Jose Canas, who is expected to complete a medical this week.
Tottenham Hotspur
Internacional striker Leandro Damiao is understood to be Andre Villas-Boas's top transfer target in January, but the Portuguese has thus far been frustrated with his attempts to secure a deal. Shakhtar Donetsk's much-coveted attacker Willian is another name being mooted with a move, but it is understood that the midfielder is targeting a move to Chelsea at the end of the season.
Lewis Holtby has already agreed to move to White Hart Lane, but more realistic targets include Blackpool midfielder Tom Ince and Everton defender Sylvain Distin. Much of the club's transfer activity will depend on whether they lose Scott Parker and Jake Livermore, with Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha another name being linked with the London outfit.
West Bromwich Albion
The Baggies' biggest piece of business this January has been their ability to keep Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku until at least the end of the season. The Belgian has really found his form in recent weeks and is the club's top scorer. Steve Clarke has confirmed that Graham Dorrens will be the only player to depart the club this month, meaning that incomings are unlikely.
Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson has been surprisingly linked with the club along with Plymouth's Luke Young, but much of their activity will depend on whether they can keep hold of Jonas Olsson, who has drawn attention from a number of Premier League clubs.
West Ham United
The Hammers have been linked with a number of players in January, with Nicolas Anelka, currently with Shanghai Shenhua, just one striker on the reported list. David Beckham has also been mooted as a possible signing, but it is understood that the former England captain will move abroad rather than remain in England.
Lille striker Salomon Kalou and free agent John Mensah have also been linked with moves to Upton Park, along with former Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon, who is currently without a club. More realistic signings could arrive, however, in the shape of Dinamo Zagreb's Andrej Kramaric and Galatasaray's Burak Yilmaz.
Wigan Athletic
Wigan are not really known for their business in January, but boss Roberto Martinez has never been shy to move for a player should he deem it necessary. Free agent Ferrie Bodde has been linked with the DW Stadium, along with Manchester City's Abdisalam Ibrahim, who is a reported target for a number of Premier League clubs.
Atletico Madrid's Joel Robles has also been mentioned as Martinez attempts to take advantage of the uncertainly in the Spanish league. Fulham's Chris Baird could arrive in order to provide numbers in midfield, while a striker is also on the agenda, with Stoke City's Cameron Jerome a possible signing.
