Report: Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao to join Manchester United

Manchester United are to use the presence of Falcao and Angel di Maria to sign Fabio Coentrao from Real Madrid, according to reports.

Manchester United have expressed an interest in signing Fabio Coentrao from Real Madrid in the upcoming transfer window, according to reports.

Louis van Gaal is said to be wanting to strengthen the Red Devils' left-back position as Luke Shaw has struggled with fitness since joining from Southampton in the summer.

According to The Express, the presence of Falcao and Angel di Maria at Old Trafford may persuade Coentrao, who has only played three times for Los Merengues this season, to join Manchester United.

The three players all share the same agent, Jorge Mendes.
