David de Gea will turn down a big-money offer from Saudi Arabia to sign a new deal at Manchester United, according to a report.

David de Gea reportedly has no interest in a big-money move to Saudi Arabia, with the goalkeeper determined to sign a new contract at Manchester United.

The 32-year-old's existing deal with the 20-time English champions is due to expire at the end of June, and there has still not been an announcement over a new contract at Old Trafford.

Man United are believed to be keen to keep hold of the Spaniard, but the club are not prepared to pay him the £375,000 a week that he currently collects.

The Red Devils are thought to want the stopper to accept a huge drop in salary in order to continue at Old Trafford, and head coach Erik ten Hag recently said that he is expecting an agreement to be reached in the near future.

There have been claims that a number of Saudi Arabian clubs are keeping a close eye on the situation, with De Gea capable of earning a gigantic salary if he moves to the country.

However, according to talkSPORT, the former Atletico Madrid youngster will reject any offer that arrives from Saudi Arabia in the hope of remaining at Man United.

The report claims that De Gea wants to spend at least the next two seasons at Old Trafford despite suggestions that he could lose his status as number one.

The stopper made some high-profile errors during the 2022-23 campaign, namely against Sevilla in the Europa League and West Ham United in the Premier League.

However, he won the Golden Glove in the Premier League, having kept 17 clean sheets in the competition, with Ten Hag's side securing third position in the table to return to the Champions League for next season.

Man United's goalkeeping department is set to be overhauled this summer, as Tom Heaton, who is currently the number two, only has a contract until the end of June.

Meanwhile, Jack Butland, who was number three in the second half of the 2022-23 season after arriving on loan from Crystal Palace, has completed a permanent move to Rangers.

Dean Henderson is preparing to return from a loan spell at Nottingham Forest, but the England international is allegedly in discussions over a permanent move to Steve Cooper's side.

Porto's Diogo Costa is said to be admired by the Red Devils, while Brentford's David Raya is also thought to be on the club's shortlist when it comes to potential new goalkeepers.

De Gea made the move to Old Trafford from Atletico in 2011, and he has represented the 20-time English champions on 545 occasions in all competitions.
