Borussia Dortmund reportedly hold an interest in a part-exchange deal involving Donyell Malen and Jadon Sancho.
During the summer transfer window, Dortmund successfully negotiated the return of Sancho on a loan deal from Manchester United for the rest of the season.
Sancho's second spell at the Westfalenstadion can only be described as mixed at best, with just one goal and one assist coming from seven starts and two substitute outings.
However, the England international did chip in with an important strike during the 2-1 victory at Werder Bremen in Dortmund's last Bundesliga fixture on Saturday.
There is no option for Dortmund to automatically trigger the permanent reunion of Sancho that having initially suited the German side who are battling to secure a top-four finish.

Nevertheless, such a scenario could ultimately suit all parties, Sancho receiving the regular game time that he missed out on at Old Trafford due to his falling out with Erik ten Hag.
If the Dutchman departs the United dugout in the summer, it is plausible that Sancho may be provided with an opportunity to revive his career with the Red Devils.
According to BILD, Dortmund do not want that to happen and instead feel that the 23-year-old should continue his career back with them.
Given the finances that would be involved in a permanent deal, Dortmund are allegedly open to discussing another season-long loan with their United counterparts.

That said, another is to negotiate a player-plus-cash deal where Malen could be allowed to move in the opposition direction.
While Malen has been in superb form this season, scoring 13 goals in all competitions, it has been claimed that there is interest of a move elsewhere.
As recently as last week, the 25-year-old hinted that he would be open to re-joining Arsenal, a club that he represented during his youth days, or a move to another top European club.
The Netherlands international holds a contract until 2026, yet holding a desire to take on a new challenge is not out of the question with 104 appearances having been made in all competitions since 2021.
