Ajax forward Viktor Fischer has revealed that he is close to agreeing a new contract with the Dutch club, despite reported interest from abroad.
The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the best prospects in world football, leading to suggestions that Manchester United and Chelsea were preparing moves for the playmaker.
However, Ajax boss Frank de Boer has moved quickly to tie the forward, who made his Champions League debut against Manchester City earlier in the season, to a new contract.
He told Sporten.dk: "The negotiations are going quite smoothly and I do expect everything to be sorted out soon. I don't know when it will happen, but I'm sure it will be over very soon."
The Dane has scored eight goals in 18 games this season.
