A decision on Erling Braut Haaland's future will be made "in the next few weeks", according to Borussia Dortmund head of first-team football Sebastian Kehl.

Borussia Dortmund head of first-team football Sebastian Kehl has revealed that a decision on Erling Braut Haaland's future will be made "in the next few weeks".

The Norway international will allegedly have a £63m release clause in his BVB contract this summer, and a number of clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, are said to be competing for his signature.

Kehl has said that Dortmund are still hopeful of keeping hold of the 21-year-old, but a final decision on the striker's future will be made in the not too distant future.

"The situation is very clear, he has the opportunity to get out [of his contract in the summer]. There are certainly a few more reasons why Haaland is in very good hands at Borussia Dortmund and why we as a club can continue to be a very good option for him," Kehl told reporters.

"We will sit down with Erling and his team in the next few weeks and discuss the situation intensively. It would be good if a decision doesn't drag on forever."

Haaland has again been in impressive form for his German club during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 19 times and contributing five assists in 16 appearances in all competitions.

In total, the Norwegian has scored 76 goals and registered 20 assists in 75 outings for Dortmund since making the move from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020.
