Rumoured Manchester United target Harry Maguire has reportedly informed manager Brendan Rodgers that he wants to leave Leicester City before the transfer window closes.
The 26-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, 12 months on from a switch between the two clubs falling through.
United are apparently reluctantly willing to hand over £75m to Leicester and, according to the Daily Mail, a transfer has moved a step closer as the England international has formally asked to leave.
Maguire is said to have spoken to Rodgers during City's pre-season training camp in France with the hope that it will ease negotiations with United.
Manchester City are rumoured to have pulled out of the race to sign the former Hull City ace due to Leicester's large asking price, which could make Maguire the most expensive defender in world football.
