Odion Ighalo reportedly intends to ask Shanghai Shenhua whether he can see out the season on loan at Manchester United.

Odion Ighalo is reportedly keen to see out the campaign on loan at Manchester United, rather than return to parent club Shanghai Shenhua.

Before football was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, Ighalo had netted four goals from eight appearances in all competitions after moving to Old Trafford in January.

However, his deal is due to expire on May 31, leaving Shanghai free to demand that the attacker returns to China over the coming week.

According to The Mirror, the Nigerian would prefer to continue his spell in the Premier League, initially on a temporary basis.

The 30-year-old allegedly wants Shanghai to reopen negotiations with United regarding an extension of their current loan agreement.

Like with the Premier League, the Chinese equivalent is currently scheduled to resume next month.
