Inter Milan have reportedly identified Manchester United defender Chris Smalling as a potential replacement for Milan Skriniar.
Having spent a successful period on loan at Roma last season, Smalling is currently pushing to secure a return to Stadio Olimpico.
However, with his former club yet to meet United's alleged £18m asking price, it leaves the Englishman having to be open to other offers.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter may make an approach for the 30-year-old if they part ways with Skriniar.
Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with the Slovakia international, who is valued in excess of £50m by the Serie A and Europa League runners-up.
The North London outfit are said to have been informed that they will have to improve their current proposal, which includes at least one player.
