Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news and rumours, including Ethan Wheatley to Walsall, Andre Silva to West Ham United and an update on Beto's future at Everton.

Manchester United forward Ethan Wheatley has joined Walsall on loan for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.

The 19-year-old has featured on four occasions for Man United's first team, while he has scored six times in nine appearances in Premier League 2 during the 2024-25 campaign.

The Red Devils currently have big problems in the final third of the field, but it has been decided that Wheatley's development would be best served by moving on loan.

"It is my first loan so I am very excited to get going," Wheatley told Walsall's official website.

"I had interest from other places but they didn't have as many games left in the season and a big thing for me is earning game time and trying to play as much as possible in the men's game, hopefully I can do that and stamp my mark."

Walsall are bidding to earn promotion from League Two this season, with the team currently top of the division, eight points ahead of second-placed Crewe Alexandra.

West Ham 'in advanced talks with Leipzig over Silva'

Meanwhile, West Ham United are reportedly in advanced discussions with RB Leipzig over a deal for Andre Silva.

The Hammers are determined to add a forward player to their squad before the end of the January transfer window due to their injury problems in that area of the field.

Silva's future has recently been the subject of much speculation, with Leipzig allowing the Portugal international to leave during the winter market.

According to Sky Deutschland, West Ham are in advanced talks with Leipzig over the loan signing of Silva.

The report claims that there will be an option for the Hammers to sign him on a permanent basis during this summer's transfer window, but it will be up to the London club to decide whether they want to bring him in on a long-term basis.

The 29-year-old has scored two goals and registered six assists in 15 appearances for Leipzig this season, including one goal and two assists in eight Bundesliga outings.

Everton 'planning to sell Beto before January deadline'

Elsewhere, Everton are reportedly planning to sell Beto before the January transfer window closes for business, with the forward not in David Moyes' plans moving forward.

According to former Man United, West Ham and Sunderland scout Mick Brown, Beto is likely to be moved on before the end of the winter market.

"Yes, I think they'd like to move him on before the end of the window," he told Football Insider.

Beto made the move to Everton from Udinese in August 2023, but he has found it difficult to settle at Goodison Park.

The 26-year-old has only managed eight goals and two assists in 53 appearances for the Toffees in all competitions, while he has only struck once in 13 Premier League appearances during the 2024-25 campaign.

Beto has a contract at Goodison Park until June 2027, though, and his healthy pay packet makes an exit difficult in the latter stages of the January window.
