Manchester United outcast Jesse Lingard could reportedly join Sheffield United on loan in the January transfer window.
Lingard has had his fair share of injury woes recently, but even when fully fit, the 28-year-old has not come into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's thinking this season.
The England international is yet to play a single minute of Premier League football this term and has been restricted to games in the EFL Cup, with Lingard naturally being tipped to move on in the near future.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder spoke with Solskjaer regarding a deal after the Blades' 3-2 defeat to United on Thursday evening.
Lingard is about to enter the final six months of his Man United contract, but the Red Devils are expected to exercise their option for a further year in order to avoid losing the midfielder for nothing.
Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers have also been linked with a swoop for Lingard, who boasts 33 goals and 20 assists in 209 appearances for United across all competitions.
