Manchester United have reportedly informed Jesse Lingard that he will not be allowed to leave Old Trafford on transfer deadline day.
On two separate occasions this month, including on Monday, interim boss Ralf Rangnick has given the green light for the playmaker to move elsewhere.
Newcastle United and, more recently, West Ham United have been attempting to negotiate terms with United officials, preferably on loan even with the 29-year-old's contract being due to expire in the summer.
However, according to The Athletic, Lingard has now been told that he will see out the campaign with the Red Devils.
Earlier in the transfer window, it was claimed that United were demanding a £12m Premier League survival fee from Newcastle, a stance which immediately led to the Magpies stepping away from negotiations.
As well as being fearful of the potential of the North-East outfit, the report adds that United did not want to strengthen a current direct rival such as West Ham.
