Former Manchester United and Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata is reportedly considering staying in the Premier League with the next club that he joins in the summer.

Former Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata is reportedly refusing to rule out the possibility of staying in the Premier League next season.

The Spaniard announced that he would be leaving the Red Devils after nine years at the club following the end of his contract, meaning he is a free agent in this transfer window.

According to The Times, the 34-year-old is open to staying in England and continuing to play in the Premier League moving forward when he chooses his next club.

Mata made 285 appearances for Manchester United during his stint at Old Trafford, scoring 51 times, while he also had 33 goals in 135 appearances throughout his time at Chelsea.

The creative midfielder has been linked with a move to Barcelona, with his last stint in La Liga taking place during the 2010-11 season, when he played for Valencia.

He is one of several players who will be heading out of the door this summer from Manchester United, with Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Nemanja Matic also departing on free transfers.
