Juventus attempted to sign Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati over the summer, according to a report.

Juventus reportedly asked Barcelona about Ansu Fati during the summer transfer window.

The 17-year-old scored eight times and registered one assist in 33 appearances for Barca last season and has started the 2020-21 campaign in impressive fashion, already scoring five times in six outings.

Manchester United were strongly linked with the Spain international over the summer, with the Red Devils said to be prepared to pay a substantial fee to sign him during the recent window.

According to Tuttosport, Juve also tried to sign the youngster during the summer, with the Italian club's Chief Football Officer Fabio Paratici asking about him during the talks regarding Arthur and Miralem Pjanic.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that United have "never been close" to signing Fati despite the recent speculation surrounding his future.

The teenager recently signed a new long-term deal at Camp Nou and now has a release clause of €400m (£367m).
