The agent of Red Bull Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi has revealed that his client has rejected a move to Manchester United in favour of joining Borussia Dortmund this summer.
The 20-year-old is believed to be edging closer to a move to Dortmund for around €38m (£32.5m), with only his contract and paperwork to be signed before the deal can be finalised.
Man United are understood to have attempted to hijack Dortmund's deal for Adeyemi and were prepared to pay the Germany international £150,000 per week.
However, the player's agent, Thomas Solomon, has since confirmed to journalist Fabrizio Romano that the forward has snubbed a move to Old Trafford, stating: "We're now close to complete the deal with Borussia Dortmund. There will be no release clause included into his five-year deal.
"[Ralf] Rangnick? Yes, Manchester United wanted to enter the race – but we want BVB".
With Erling Braut Haaland close to completing his move to Manchester City, Adeyemi is set to replace the Norway international at the Westfalenstadion.
Adeyemi has been a standout performer for the Austrian champions this season, scoring 23 goals and providing eight assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
