Leeds United and West Ham United are reportedly keeping tabs on Sevilla and Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.

Leeds United and West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.

The 31-year-old has spent the last 10 years of his professional career in Spain, playing for Atletico Madrid B, Real Zaragoza and Girona before moving to Sevilla in 2019.

Bounou – also known as Bono – has established himself as the club's number-one goalkeeper and as one of the best stoppers in La Liga, keeping 52 clean sheets in 111 appearances across all competitions.

According to Fichajes, both Leeds and West Ham are keeping tabs on the Canadian-born Morocco international, who is under contract at Sevilla until the summer of 2025.

Leeds bolstered their goalkeeping ranks over the summer with the signing of Spaniard Joel Robles on a free transfer, following his release from Real Betis.

The 32-year-old was brought to Elland Road by head coach Jesse Marsch to provide experience and competition for young stoppers Illan Meslier and Kristoffer Klaesson.

Meslier is regarded as the club's undisputed number one, so an immediate switch for Bono appears to be unlikely, although there has been speculation over the former's future in recent months.

The likes of Manchester United, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly monitoring his progress, but Leeds are said to have no interest in selling Meslier who extended his contract until June 2026 last year.

Meanwhile, West Ham signed Alphonse Areola on a permanent deal over the summer, following a year on loan at the club from Paris Saint-Germain last season.

Areola featured regularly for the Hammers between the sticks in the Europa League last season, but he was an understudy to Lukasz Fabianski in the Premier League, and their roles remain the same under David Moyes so far this term.

However, Fabianski turns 38 next year and his long-term future at the London Stadium is believed to be uncertain as he has less than 12 months remaining on his contract.

West Ham could therefore step up their interest in Sevilla's Bono should they decide to part ways with Fabianksi at the end of the season.

Bono, who played twice against West Ham in the Europa League knockout rounds last season, is currently away on international duty with Morocco and he kept a clean sheet in their 2-0 friendly win over Chile on Friday.
